This year on "Doxiementary"...

Franny's adventures continue, taking place in a different part of the San Francisco Bay Area, and with a whole new cast of characters.

Franny
ME, the star of this blog, always and forever.

Margot
My doxie sister who is a recovering poo-eater and lawn-destroyer.

Pippin
My kitten brother who we adopted last year into our family. He had a myriad of health problems and we got him all better! He's a cat who actually likes me!

Eloise
Ellie is our newly adopted baby sister. She came to us needing some love and a new family. We just couldn't say "no".

UPDATES: Because it would take me 78 hours to type one post with my paws, Nina helps me with my blog. Our avid readers may have noticed that Nina has not been helping me, and this blog has not been getting updated. Hopefully we will update in a more timely manner. In the mean time, I wanted to share with everyone what has been going on!

First, we're MOVING! We live in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area but we are now moving to the Peninsula. How cool is that? Because our family has reached its maximum capacity, we're moving to a pet-friendlier place closer to Nina's work.

We've been extremely busy preparing for our move, but in the beginning of January, we visited Pony for the very last time at her Los Angeles home. She moved to Florida a few weeks ago so our trips to LA are no more. I hope one day I will be able to visit her in Florida and see my cousin Lucky again (and eat his poo).

Lastly, I want to thank all my friends who continue to leave comments on my blog! I'll find a way to thank you better.

Yours truly,
Franny

LA Adventure

Unfortunately, Nina forgot her camera on several occasions. Please blame her for the lack of photographic documentation of our travels and adventures in Los Angeles. The only time Nina did remember to bring her photo-box, was when we spent the day in Santa Monica. We walked down the Third Street Promenade and drove up the Pacific Coast Highway, through Santa Monica and up towards Malibu. The weather was beautiful. It's just too bad dogs aren't allowed on most beaches.

So pretty!

Is this supposed to be my close-up?

Margot rides safely in a crate while I get to sit in Nina's lap in the front seat!

PCH.

Some pretty houses on the hill.

It's hot and sunny in Los Angeles.

Franny

California Road Trip

Nina and I take frequent trips to Southern California to visit Pony, Nina's older sister. This time, we're traveling all the way down to San Diego. We've never been there before and we'll be driving for 8+ hours to get there. The reason we're driving down to San Diego, is to help Nina's younger cousin move into the dorms at UC San Diego. After we help her move in, we're going to drive back up and stop in Los Angeles for the weekend.

Here's a map, to give you an idea of where we're going.

I'll make sure Nina takes lots of pictures of me during our trip. I guess we'll see you next week!

Feeling Blue

I haven't been blogging in July because we've been having fun in Los Angeles, visiting Pony. There aren't any pictures of our adventures because Nina kept forgetting her camera every time we went out. Anyway, we're back in the Bay Area and I've been quite bored. Don't worry, I'm not sad. I'm just trying to feel blue like my friend, Yoshi. Isn't he cute?

I'm looking forward to next week because my birthday is coming up! I'll be TWO soon!

Always & Forever,
Franny

Malibu Beach Franny

We drove down to Los Angeles again to visit Nina's sister, Pony. They were celebrating Nina's Birthday.

Here I am at a beach in Malibu.

How do my feet look? I think need a pawdicure. Unfortunately, I had to stay on a leash which resulted in many not-so-nice photos of moi.

Most beaches in LA don't even allow dogs! Can you believe that? We had to drive farther north so I could feel the sand between my toes. It felt gooood.

Smooches,
Franny

Weekend in Los Angeles

We had to stop for gas on I-5.

This is Brody's first road trip. He looks tired...

I hate long car rides. They are so boring!

We are finally in LA and I'm exhausted.

I'm listening to the dogs barking outside.

Nina dressed Brody in Lucky's Batman costume. It's a little late for Halloween...

Brody, just sniffing around.

This smells nice.

Even though the rain kept us inside for most of the weekend, I still had fun. Lucky the Cat still hates me. I wonder if he'll ever love me as much as I love him.

Toodles,
Franny

Snow in California

On our drive up from Los Angeles to San Francisco, we drove through some mountains and saw snow! It was nice because I've never seen snow and I've definitely never played in snow. Next winter when Nina goes to Nevada to snowboard, she will take me with her and we will get to play in the snow. I doubt I will like it because I hate getting wet and I hate the cold...

If we move to New York we will get to experience the snow more often.

Franny

I Love Pinkberry

Today we went to Pinkberry.

Original yogurt with blueberries, banana, and carob chips!

It smells good!

It tastes good!

Special Lunch

I was left alone for most of the day while Nina and her sister Pony went shopping in West LA. I was bored, lonely, and sad! To make up for it, Pony made me a special lunch.

Rosemary chicken topped with a little Gruyere.

I love chicken and cheese!

5 seconds later...

More please!

Saddle Peak Lodge

Nina and Pony and Pony's boyfriend Keith went for brunch at Saddle Peak Lodge. I couldn't go but here are some pictures.

Nina loves animals but also the meat, like me. Sorry if this offends anyone who doesn't eat meat or anyone who is against the practice of taxidermy.

Kobe chopped steak sandwich with St. Agur blue cheese & garlic fries.

Buffalo burger with Gruyere cheese and homemade potato chips.

Warm banana bread pudding with blueberries.

A badger! I would tear it apart.

Ciao Chow,

Hiking in L.A.

Today Nina took me on a short hike. It had just rained so everything was wet and muddy.

Do you smell that?

I smell something!

A coyote paw print! They must be close by.

I think we should leave...

Lucky Hates Me

Lucky is Pony and Keith's cat. He is accustomed to being the only "child" or animal in the house. He hates me! It really makes me sad. I try to play with him and get close to him but he growls, hisses, and swipes at me. I am definitely scared of him.

This is as close as I can get to him.

He prefers being alone.

Sigh,
Franny

Christmas Day!

This is my second Christmas and it was wonderful! Last year I spent it with Vlad who is all alone in New York this year. I sent My Love a nice Christmas/Hanukkah package to cheer him up. I know he had a miserable Christmas because I was not there.

Here is our little tree. It is the perfect size for me. Isn't it pretty?

Our tree topper wasn't an angel or a star but an Owl! Pony lives north of Los Angeles where there are lots of coyotes, rabbits, owls, birds, squirrels, possum, raccoons, and mice in the backyard.

All the wonderful presents! There are so many!

Here are our stockings hung by the chimney with care.

Here I am dressed in my new winter parka! I also got some new toys and holiday dog cookies.

That was our Christmas! I hope you had a great Christmas or Hanukkah!

Peace on Earth,
Franny

Christmas Eve Dinner

What is there to do on Christmas Eve? Not much. Nina took us on a long walk around the neighborhood. Then she went with Pony to do some grocery shopping for dinner. Pony spent all day cooking dinner.

Looks tasty.

The table is set and ready for dinner.

Beef Tenderloin, green beans with pancetta, and potatoes gratin!

I got a little pancetta and beef but ate mostly my dog food - yuck! Happy Christmas Eve Dinner!

Love,
Franny
