Afternoon Stroll

With two other doggy siblings, it's often difficult to be able to spend some one-on-one time with Nina. When I was the only child, Nina took me everywhere, always. Now, we take turns going out with her shopping or running errands (because three's a crowd). I guess it's not so bad relaxing at home with a treat-filled Kong... But when I do get to go out, I have so much fun smelling new smells and meeting new people.

Pony was in town visiting from Florida and she and Nina took me out to Laurel St. in San Carlos.

There's a little park located in between the shops on Laurel. I was smelling all the dogs who had been there before but suddenly felt the urge to start digging. And because Nina's a party pooper, she dragged me away before I could cause any damage.

I wasn't happy.

We walked into the pet boutique, Bow Wow Meow.

Are you going to buy me anything???

A wall of toys! If I could take these home, it would be one of my biggest dreams come true.

I left with some of my favorite treats, which I will be sharing with a lucky reader in the next coming weeks. Stay tuned to find out how you can win!

Grrrr (stomach growling),

Lookin' Soxy

I picked these socks out at the Pet Expo a few months ago. It's finally the right time to wear them!

You'd think they would be uncomfortable, but they're actually quite nice.

I hope you're keeping your paws nice and warm in the cold weather.

Love,
Franny

Kate Spade or Spayed?

This week we went to the Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto to do some Christmas shopping. We stopped by the Kate Spade Store and came across another dachshund -- one that Nina can wear around her neck!

She couldn't resist getting this adorable dachshund scarf.

It makes a great pillow!

Of course, I just had to get something from Kate Spayed too!

How do you like my new designer purse?

This is my "sexy" model pose, which is also what I look like right before I fall asleep from being bored.

Pretty in Pink

Hello everyone! Sorry I've been gone for so long. I've been busy going to work with Nina everyday. I'm her office assistant and it's tough work. Although I'm napping for most of the day, I would appreciate if she did something nice for me. So on Friday, I got a little surprise present.

A new collar! Pink, of course.

It's from Hamish McBeth.

Do you recognize the bed?

The flowers are the best part. Don't I look pretty in pink?

I'll try to update more often!

Hugs,
Franny

Pet Expo

Today was the last day of the San Mateo Pet Expo. Nina and I had a lovely time browsing the different booths and making new friends. We did quite a bit of shopping which I'll blog about in another entry. We watched a police dog demonstration, met Gibson, the world's tallest dog, and even saw a performance from Chalcy, the superstar dog.

Chalcy, the dog superstar, and his baby sister.

This guy needs a home...

I wish we could play.

I always wanted a kitty sibling. Someday, in the future...

Nice to meet you.

Hello.

So, what's new?

You sure are fluffy.

Gibson, the world's tallest dog! I saw him on Oprah!

Nice booth you got here.

What are you?

You smell delicious.

Let me in!!!

Am I allowed to go potty in here???

The nice lady at the Planet Blue Dog booth gave me some yummy treats! She was so nice!

Nina bought me the cute squirrel toy from Planet Blue Dog. It's a rope chew toy that you soak in chicken broth and then freeze. It's a great frozen chew treat for your dog! I'll blog about this cool toy soon.

Doxie pins! Not really our style, but still, very cool! Nina may not like these pins, but it does not mean she's not into tacky dachshund collectibles - she's obsessed.

This cute yellow lab was being very patient while her owner shopped at one of the booths.

Hello, my fellow dachshund!

Well, I guess that's all from the the Pet Expo. Just so you know, there are pet expos going on everywhere. Everyone should go to one because they're so much fun!

Woof,
Franny

For The Dogs

Nina recently got a job where she has to work longer hours. I wasn't used to her being gone for so long during the day that I've been pretty upset and lonely. Luckily, I am now allowed to go to work with her!

I needed a comfy bed to sleep and lounge in at work, so Nina bought me a new hoodie bed that I absolutely love! Being a dachshund, I love to burrow under blankets. This pita-pocket (or whatever you want to call it) bed is perfect for me!

It's so comfortable, I'm falling asleep in it already.

Peek-a-boo.

Before I forget, we got it from here.

Sleep tight,
Franny

Earth Day 2008

I hold the future of our earth in the pads of my paws... and so do you! Do your part and be active about reusing, reducing, and recycling.

Orbee-tuff balls are non-toxic, recyclable, and last a long time.

Brown Bear was made from recycled products.

Everyone should be aware and concerned about the environment and the planet we live on. Here are some tips...

1. Buy dog toys that are made from recycled products or are recyclable.
2. Use biodegradable bags for cleaning up after us dogs.
3. Use biodegradable puppy pads for those who need to use pads. Hartz makes some great biodegradable pads that are better than regular pads.
4. If possible, buy locally made dog treats.

Shop OliveGreenDog.com until April 30th and recieve 15% Off!!!
CODE: OlivePlanet

Annie's Sweatshop is also a great place to buy from to help the environment! Their products are not only great for the environment, they're also great for dachshunds.

Don't forget the three Rs,
Franny

Bowsers Bed

My new bed came in through UPS yesterday. Nina bought me a brand new Bowsers Donut Bed from Dog Bed Works. She got a medium sized bed which is way too big.

I approve. It's soft, comfortable, and all mine.

It's nice to have this all to myself.

Yours Truly,
Franny

Nikon D40

Nina just got her new Nikon D40 camera today from B&H Photo in New York, courtesy of Vlad. Now Nina can take more wonderful pictures of me! I'm ready for my close-up. By the way, these pictures weren't taken with the new camera.

I wasn't ready in this picture... I look stunned.

How's this? I'm going for a more serious look.

Lights, Camera,
Franny
