Pretty in Pink

Bay Area weather is pretty bipolar. It's hot then cold, then hot and now it's cold again! Because the cold has returned, I had to wear my pink trench coat out on a walk at Point Isabel.

I got many looks and double-takes wearing this coat. As much as I like the attention and looking good, I need to wear coats and sweaters so I don't freeze my little derriere off. Right, short hair doxies? When it's cold outside, I shake and shiver without one.

Look! It's the Golden Gate Bridge!

la la la...

Point Isabel has a beautiful view of the San Francisco skyline.

Our next trip to Point Isabel has been planned for a warmer day and not at sunset. We will return on a day where I can get dirty and dig in the dirt to my heart's content. I hope the Bay Area starts to warm-up soon!

Franny

Fort Funston with Holly

Meet Holly. She is my new doxie friend and is only just a pup. We met-up at Fort Funston awhile back for an afternoon of fun. She kind of looks like me (except I'm way prettier).

I had a lot of fun digging in the sand. And I found the most perfect spot to dig!

I'm an expert root-remover. I guess I could teach Holly a few tricks.

And of course, Margot came along too.

Margot... What are you eating?

Margot, don't eat that!

Ugh, Margot... You ate it...

We had a fun time at Fort Funston. I don't know if you've heard, but the GGNRA is trying to stop us from being able to have off-leash fun there and other parks in California. Read more about this at Eco-Dog.

Holly is actually kind of scared of me. I think it's because she's intimidated by my stunning beauty and grace. Hopefully she will be more comfortable around me the next time we meet and have more fun.

Toodles,
Franny

Franny's 3rd Birthday

My Third Birthday was on Wednesday, July 22nd. It was a weekday, which meant that Nina was busy with work. My actual birthday was nothing special and I was sad that I didn't have a party. But on Sunday, Nina took me to San Francisco's Golden Gate Park and we had a birthday picnic with all my friends!

It's my birthday and I'll whine if I want to! I'm now 3 years old!

These paper flowers are pretty, but they're also annoying.

Margot is wondering why she's not getting any pretty flowers.

This is the best day of the entire year!

Yummy cupcake. And it's my favorite color!

That was deeelicious!

My guests are wondering when they're getting their cupcakes...

Here they come!

Maximus thinks those cupcakes smell good.

Ari is enjoying his first doggie cupcake. He's only 5 months old.

Chuchi & Minnie don't mind sharing.

The cupcakes were so tasty!

The end to a wonderful birthday party! Even though many passersby laughed at us, it didn't spoil the fun. And they were probably just jealous!

Love,
Franny

P.S. Check-out my 2nd Birthday

JetBlue's JetPaws

Nina and I began our journey to New York City at the San Francisco International Airport (SFO). We checked-in our luggage with JetBlue and went through security where our bag was searched. I, of course, kissed their suspicions away which they did not appreciate. It really hurt my feelings...

I wanted to walk around the airport, but the security people said I wasn't allowed to. I stayed in my carrier, but I was allowed to stick my head out and sniff a couple people. I also startled a few too! If I could laugh out loud, I would have!

Here I am waiting for my red-eye flight to JFK. I was cranky...

New York City, here I come!
-Franny

P.S. JetBlue's JetPaws program is pretty cool. This was my first flight and Nina and I were nervous, but we were given a lot of useful information that was very reassuring. Nina was also able to buy me a very nice and affordable pet carrier from them. I was safely tucked under the seat in the cabin and I slept like a baby (most of the time).

San Mateo Shoreline

The weather has been especially nice these past few days, except now it's super cold again. Thankfully we were able to enjoy the warmth while it lasted.

Nina always cleans up our stinky poo-poo!

There are birds in the grass, I just know it.

I wonder what Ellie sees.

It sucks not being able to chase birds.

This is a poster of the air traffic for the San Francisco International Airport.

Next week I'll be up in the sky, flying on an airplane. I'm going to NEW YORK CITY!

Gimme paw,
Franny

Golden Gate Fields

On the first Sunday of this month I competed in the Golden Gate Fields First Annual Doxie Derby. I raced in the 5th heat. There aren't any pictures of me actually racing, but I can tell you that I didn't really race. In fact, I didn't even run. As soon as the gates opened, I sauntered to the sidelines and watched the other doxies zoom by.

Do I look like I want to race?

Thirsty racer.

The Doxie Derby took place between the real horse races.

This was the doxie that won in the 5th heat. He kind of looks like me!

The San Francisco skyline.

Hurry, I want to go home now!

Crissy Field

The weather has been nice which means... Field Trip! Crissy Field Trip, to be exact.

Look at me fly!

Action shot.

A nice walk on the beach...

View of the bay. Can you see Alcatraz? What about the blimp?

Bet you didn't know I fetch sticks!

Margot likes to dig, dig, dig.

I hope everyone else is enjoying the outdoors!

Franny

This year on "Doxiementary"...

Franny's adventures continue, taking place in a different part of the San Francisco Bay Area, and with a whole new cast of characters.

Franny
ME, the star of this blog, always and forever.

Margot
My doxie sister who is a recovering poo-eater and lawn-destroyer.

Pippin
My kitten brother who we adopted last year into our family. He had a myriad of health problems and we got him all better! He's a cat who actually likes me!

Eloise
Ellie is our newly adopted baby sister. She came to us needing some love and a new family. We just couldn't say "no".

UPDATES: Because it would take me 78 hours to type one post with my paws, Nina helps me with my blog. Our avid readers may have noticed that Nina has not been helping me, and this blog has not been getting updated. Hopefully we will update in a more timely manner. In the mean time, I wanted to share with everyone what has been going on!

First, we're MOVING! We live in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area but we are now moving to the Peninsula. How cool is that? Because our family has reached its maximum capacity, we're moving to a pet-friendlier place closer to Nina's work.

We've been extremely busy preparing for our move, but in the beginning of January, we visited Pony for the very last time at her Los Angeles home. She moved to Florida a few weeks ago so our trips to LA are no more. I hope one day I will be able to visit her in Florida and see my cousin Lucky again (and eat his poo).

Lastly, I want to thank all my friends who continue to leave comments on my blog! I'll find a way to thank you better.

Yours truly,
Franny
