Love at First Sniff

On a Sunday afternoon at the Washington Square dog park, I smelled him.

His scent permeated the dog park and it caught my attention.

He looked at me with his dark, soulful eyes.
And oh my dog - I love his hair!

I looked at him.
Do I look okay? Does this collar make me look fat?

We met.

We introduced ourselves.
I told him I was a Leo from California who loves beaches, digging, chasing squirrels, and eating human food.

We were both smitten.

Do you mind???
I'm spayed, he's neutered.

We're in love!
His name is Oscar and he's a red sable, longhair dachshund. He weighs about 11.5 lbs. He lives in New York and I live in California. How will this loooong distance relationship work?

Not the Hudson

On another stroll through Central Park, Nina and I discovered a stream. Central Park is full of wonderful surprises like that!

Hurry, over here.

I smell squirrels in the water.

It's not as cold as I thought it would be.

It's better than the Hudson.

Wading & waiting for squirrels,

Central Park - The Great Outdoors!

Central Park is almost like heaven. The abundance of squirrels, varieties of birds, and the other little critters that scurry through the brush make me squeal with glee! I literally squeal, like a little piggy. Although I live in California which has its share of wooded areas, I think Central Park is the first and only real woodsy area I've ever walked through. I shouldn't say walked because I pulled my way through Central Park.

I stopped here because I spotted a squirrel.

Look at it! So fuzzy, so cute, and so evil.

Darn these fences! Let me in!

They're so quick and stealthy - I don't know if I'll ever catch one.
