San Mateo Dog Park

This is the huge dog park at the San Mateo shoreline. There's a big section for big dogs and a smaller section for small dogs. I technically belong in the "small" dog section, but I prefer the other side. I'm not scared!

Those dogs over there are playing kind of rough... I hope they don't come over here.

Hi! You're BIG!

Hmm... there aren't very many dogs out today.

I'm flipping out.

Why are we so close to the choppy and murky water?

SHARK WEEK

It's Shark Week on the Discovery Channel!!! Shark week starts on Sunday, July 27th. Tune in to the Discovery Channel and don't miss it!

Meet Milton, my Great White Shark friend. He's 30 million years old.

Nina and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California, home of the "Red Triangle". You can see exactly where the Red Triangle is located on the map above. The Red Triangle's waters are concentrated with Great Whites and it's where the most Great White Shark attacks occur in the world. I won't be swimming in these waters, ever!

I'm sad because up to 70 million of Milton's friends and family members are killed each year.

Even though Milton is my friend, he is still a little Great White Shark.

Milton, behave! Don't try to eat me!

Beware of a doxie-attack,

Foggy Doggy

Today we went to Fort Funston (the best off-leash dog beach/trail/park in San Francisco). It was very hot in the East Bay but once we got to the SF coast area, it was cold, windy, and foggy.

The fog was so thick, it was like walking through clouds.

It was windy too. You can tell by my flapping ears.

Following the leader, the leader, the leader...

Did you find any leftover picnic food?

I think Ronald was here yesterday.

Hello, friend!

It was such a fun day! After our walk we went to get some frozen yogurt from Yogurtouille (a self-serve yogurt shop) and Nina got too much yogurt. Lucky ME got the leftovers! I was frrrreezing! I think I ate it too fast.

It's nice to be at home and warm again - the way it should be in July.

Franny's Second Birthday

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Second Birthday Princess Franny, Happy Birthday to me!

That cake looks yummy...

Two candles for turning two years old.

Hey, why is my cake on fire? And why am I wearing this silly party hat instead of a tiara or crown?

GIVE US CAKE!

And a piece of yogurt candy.

Yummy, yum, yum.

Ripping paper is the most fun a doxie girl can have!

A little help, please.

OOOOOh...

Margot, don't be jealous. Now step away from my presents.

HEY, where do you think you're going with that?!

What's in here???

I love my new donut.

Oh donut, how I wish you were real. Then I would love you more -- for at least three seconds.

I'm pooped. What a perfect birthday.

I'm fourteen (in human years),
Franny

P.S. Happy Birthday to Chloe's Dad whose birthday is also today!

Turning Two

I will be TWO years old tomorrow! I can't believe it... I'm no longer a Princess, I'm a Queen! Nina says I'm going to get my very own birthday cake and presents because she feels bad we hardly celebrated my first birthday. She should feel bad! Last year all I got was a tiny banana nut tart (although very tasty and made with all natural ingredients, it was the kind that comes in a box). Anyway, I thought I'd share some of my puppy pictures. I was four months old when Nina adopted me so unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of me younger than that.

Don't I look just heavenly?

Trouble was my middle name.

Mischief was also my middle name. I can have two, right?

Here I am in awe of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was also my first time at the beach!

Nina probably hypnotized me and I'm in some kind of trance. Do you like my collar? I was so small I had to wear a cat collar!

Yup, I definitely look like a puppy in this one. I used to look like I had eyeliner on.

This was my most favorite thing to do as a puppy in the car. Now whenever I'm in the car, I shake violently, pant like I can't breathe, and feel restless.

'till TWO-morrow,
Franny

No Digging!

Nina's been complaining that I've been destroying the backyard with my obsessive digging habit. I can't help it, I need to dig! Doesn't she understand that I'm trying to help rid her of her gopher/mole/small-furry-creature problem?

"No Digging! Doxies Beware. Thank You!"

Digging? I wasn't digging. What makes you think I was digging?

Margot is trying to help me get rid of the evidence.

::SIGH:: It's no use. I have a problem and I blame it on genetics. I have a predisposed addiction to digging.

Don't stop me now, I'm having such a good time
I'm having a ball, don't stop me now
If you wanna have a good time
Just give me a call
Don't stop me now ('Cause I'm having a good time)
Don't stop me now (Yes, I'm having a good time)
I don't wanna stop at all

Wigging Out

Lately, I've been very self-conscious about my hair... It's short and it's red. I used to be more confident about my red hair and felt comparable to Lucille Ball (a fiery, funny, and famous red head). Not so much now... I can only dream about long wavy tresses. Nina's been feeling bad so she tried her best to cheer me up with a surprise: a new hairdo!

How do I look? Is my hair as long and as beautiful as Chloe's or this doxie's?

How about now? Wait... I kind of look like... like... THIS!

Ha ha... Very funny. Get this wig off my head.

Hotheaded & red,
Franny

Feeling Blue

I haven't been blogging in July because we've been having fun in Los Angeles, visiting Pony. There aren't any pictures of our adventures because Nina kept forgetting her camera every time we went out. Anyway, we're back in the Bay Area and I've been quite bored. Don't worry, I'm not sad. I'm just trying to feel blue like my friend, Yoshi. Isn't he cute?

I'm looking forward to next week because my birthday is coming up! I'll be TWO soon!

Always & Forever,
Franny
